This time of year is one of my favourites for hiking in the Okanagan—everything’s coming back to life, the trails are quieter, and wildflowers will be popping up everywhere soon!
Here are the five trails I talked about on Instagram:
- Mill Creek Regional Park – A peaceful forest walk with a few waterfalls. It’s one of my go-to spots when I want something easy, shaded, and close to town.
- Kalamalka Lake (Rattlesnake Point, Cosens Bay & Lookout Trail) – This combo loop has it all—rolling hills, turquoise lake views, and sandy beaches. The colours here in spring are unreal!
- Scenic Canyon at Gallagher’s Canyon – Packed with geological gems, this trail winds past hoodoos, a canyon, and historic rock ovens. It’s a cool mix of nature and history.
- Skaha Bluffs – Famous for climbing, but the hiking trails are just as fun! Expect sweeping views over Skaha Lake, hidden ponds, and rugged terrain.
- Naramata Creek Falls – A bit of a hidden gem! The short trail leads through the trees to a dramatic little waterfall tucked into the canyon walls. It’s extra stunning in spring when the water’s flowing.
Happy hiking!
