Day trip to Summerland 🇨🇦

Our first stop was Hardy Falls in Peachland. It’s a lovely little walk, only about 1 km total and takes about 15 minutes.

Next up was Giants Head in Summerland. Surprisingly, neither @free2wander__ or I had ever hiked it even though it’s so iconic! There are many different routes, ours was about 5.5 km total and took 2.5 hours (although only 1.5 hours moving time). Such amazing views from the top!

We were pretty hungry afterwards, so we headed into Summerland and stumbled upon @breadandcheeseco and @auracoffeetruck for a pick-me-up. Delicious food and dog-friendly 👌

I had so much fun on my first @smilecycletours that when @wanderingwellnessgetaway announced her June event was a brewery-bike crawl, I basically sprinted to sign up 😂

🍻 First stop: @rusticreel for craft beer! Most of us went for the Raspberry Hibiscus Sour or Peach Radler (both were 10/10).

🥓 Then it was off to @viceandvirtuebeer! Their new menu is awesome and we got to try a bit of everything family-style. The Pork Belly Burnt Ends and Twisted Bacon Sticks were my favourite!

🍹 Last stop: cocktails at @kelownabeerinstitute in downtown Kelowna. We enjoyed the patio and it was the perfect way to end the night!

Grab your paddleboard (or kayak), a @TreStelleCheese watermelon-feta salad, and go cave hunting on Kal Lake in Vernon! With turquoise water and rugged cliffs, it feels like the Mediterranean right here in the Okanagan.

Who are you bringing?

🍉 Pro tip: Pack a container of watermelon mixed with lime, and keep your Canadian-made @trestellecheese feta separate until you’re ready to eat. Stir it together right on your board for a refreshing, high-protein snack on the water! #ad

Start at Jade Bay in Kal Lake Provincial Park. It’s a short hike down to the lake, but you’ll skip the long stretch of waterfront houses you’d paddle past if you started at Kal Beach.

Head around Rattlesnake Point toward Cosens Bay and keep your eyes peeled, there are caves and crevices tucked all along the shore!

We found one big enough to float into and a bunch of cool little spots to explore. The full route is about 7 km round trip if you go all the way to Cosens Bay, but you can stop at the dog beach, jump in the lake, and turn it into a full-day adventure.
